Characteristics and determinants of working hours in Peru in 2022

Abstract
The objective of the study is to describe and analyze the factors that influence excessive working hours in Peru, which are defined in the study as those that exceed 49 hours per week. To carry out the study, the information collected in the National Household Survey corresponding to the year 2022 was used. The approach adopted suggests that there is a set of economic and sociodemographic factors that determine long working hours, through the use of a regression model. Logistics. The results show that approximately 33.58% of urban workers exceed the limit established by labor legislation in terms of the length of the working day.
